Leistungen: siehe "Beschreibung" Stationierung: England Nachkommen: mind. 26 Stuten (u.a. 1925 Hengstmutter Wait Not XX, 1940 Bride's Cottage XX) und mind. 6 männliche Nachkommen Beschreibung: Bred by Baron Edouard de Rothschild in France and trained in England, the brown Cottage won a plate race over the St. Leger course, carrying top weight, at age 3; at age 4 he finished second in the Goodwood Cup, and ran second in two other races, a handicap and a welter plate over 1 and 1/2 miles. Purchased by Michael Magnier, he was sent to stud at the Grange Stud in Co. Cork, Ireland, where he remained from 1924 until his death in 1942. Over those years he rose to the top of the steeplechase sires list, his highest point six years after his death, with 18 winners of 41 races in steeplechasing, and another several hurdle winners, and even a flat race winner. He got three Grand National winners, and Cottage Rake, a three-time winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup, as well as a number of other good jumping winners. He was also damsire of Cottage Son, highly influential in sporthorse breeding, and bred a number of good hunters and show horses.
